May was a fun month. Stella learned how to use the potty. Offically out of diapers this month. The weather started to get warmer so there were more days outside.

On April 5th 2011 at 10:57 pm we welcomed Daphne Sofia De La Torre weighing in at 7 lbs and 19 in. long. She is perfect! Everything went wonderfully. I am so grateful and blessed to have another sweet baby girl. Stella loves being a big sister and is a natural at it. Daphne is happy baby and we couldn't be more in love with her.

My friend Keely had a wonderful idea to make a mold of my pregnant belly so i can always remember what it was like to be pregnant. She came over one night with supplies and we had so much fun plastering my belly. I also took a picture of my belly at 9 months. I felt huge at this point! :)

We celebrated Alex's dads 64th birthday by taking him to the Texas Roadhouse for dinner. It was really yummy and we were glad we were able to spend his special day with him. We love you Jose!!

The night of Thanksgiving I got into the mood to start decorating my house for Christmas. I love this part. It makes my home feel magical and wonderous. All the little twinkle lights and garland and bright colors make me smile and feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Stella is just starting to understand Christmas and what everything that I am putting up is. She calls anything green "trees" including the tree. When the lights are on she says "look Trees! It's beautiful!" I love watching her eyes get big and sparkle as she takes it all in.

This time of the year is my favorite. Starting with Thanksgiving and ending with Christmas. I love that it centers around family and loved ones. I wish it could be year round because it seems to bring out the best in people. Even if it's only for 2 months I think it's great that people try and make an extra effort to show kindness and love towards others. This year we celebrated Thanksgiving in Tooele, UT in a bowling alley at the Army Depot that my uncle manages. He opens it up every year on Thanksgiving and invites both sides of his family and friends and anyone else that wants to come to enjoy wonderful food and good company.

I am the type of person that loves, loves surprises! Not only getting surprises but surprising other people. There is something about anticipation and suspense that makes it that much better. It gets me all excited just thinking about the reaction of the person when somthing unexpected is given. Why am I writing about surprises you ask? Well tonight I am surprising my husband with a massage. Many of you know I went to massage school and became a massage therapist. However, this didn't last too long because of many reasons and just became a hobby on the side that I didn't do too often. My husband Alex works and works and then works some more. He is such a hard and dedicated worker and does so much that I wanted to do something great for him. I am not great at keeping secrets so this is my outlet to not tell him. :) He gets home a little later tonight and I am looking forward to seeing his reaction. I hope he enjoys. :)

You know what I like about blogging, it doesn't neccessarily need to be in chronological order, so it's not. :) These next few posts are just things that I haven't been able to write about. Little tid bits that have happened for our little family. So right now I would love to give a late shout out to my wonderful, hard working husband Alex. His birthday was on Nov. 6th and he is now 27!! He is an amazing father. He loves his Little Stella so much and loves being a daddy to her. He is such a hard worker and only wants the best for our family. He has the biggest heart and only wants to make people around him happy. I love him and I am grateful for that he is in my life forever. Happy Birthday month my love!

Let it snow..

Last night and today Mother Nature has sprinkle well more like dumped on the area with a Beautiful white Blanket of snow! How fun to wake up and look outside and see everything covered in white. Snow is so peaceful and fun all at the same time. Everything is magical looking. I love it. It brings me back to my child hood and praying for it to snow,so we wouldn't have to go to school. I would get all bundled up from head to toe and run out side and play with friends for hours on end. Snow ball fights, building snowmen and sleding down our big hill out in front of my house. Then getting too cold and running inside and warming up with hot chocolate only to run back outside and continue having fun. This year is Stella's first year of really understanding snow and wanting to play in it. We kept her PJ's on put some boots on her and down vest and put a big scarf around her neck this morning so she could play with Alex in the snow while he shoveled. She loved it! She was such a good little helper! Using her little shovel and bucket she followed Alex around while he moved piles of snow out of the way. So fun to watch her discover the snow around her.

For the 4th Alex and I went to see the Bees play. (Really though I went to go see them play the Tacoma Rainiers) It was a fun game. Rainiers beat the Bees and there was pretty fireworks after. We had awesome seats and the weather was perfect.

I know I am little late with this post but I still want to say Happy Birthday to my beautiful mom! She is amazing and wonderful in every way possible. She only gets better with age. :) I am so lucky to be your daughter and I am grateful for everything you have ever taught me and for all the things that you are still teaching me. It was so fun being home and celebrating with you and the girls! What fun it was!!

Once a month a few girlfriends and I get together and do something. This last month in May we went out to the CheeseCake Factory and celebrated our very good friends Tahnies Big 24th Bday!! We had such a good night. We even had the servers sing Happy Birthday to her. It was lots of fun that night!! Thanks ladies for the memories! :)

Viva Las Vegas!!

Alex and I have never taken a trip with just the 2 us that didn't involve visiting each others family. So finally after 2 1/2 years we were finally able to take a couple days and head to Vegas. We flew my mom in to watch Stella which was perfect. We had such a wonderful time. We stayed in Ceasers Palace and in amazing room and had a wonderful, relaxing weekend. Its great what couple of days away can do to for you. Thankyou my love for the best 2 days away. :)

I just want to take a minute tell everyone out there how fabulous Lindsay Sheilds is!!! She has come up with the greatest idea. She will come to your home with her own spray on tan kit and hook you up!! No more worring about starting the summer off pasty white and trying to get that summer glow. She will bring to you!! Instead, feel confident about how you look and feel good about your perfect bronze beautiful tan. She is awesome. Who wants to take the time and go to the tanning salon when she will come to you. Before my trip to Vegas she came over and when she was done it looked like I had already spent a week in the sun. It was great! I felt good and I could wear shorts and a tank with out feeling shy about how white I really am. Here is just an a before pic of my face and then an after. It looks so natural you wouldn't have guessed it was fake. Lindsay, thanks for making my trip even that much better!! I felt amazing!! :)

Mothers Day 2010

I had such a wonderful Mothers day. Alex took Stella in the morning so I could sleep in and made her breakfest and kept her happy and preoccupied until I woke up. Then I met up with my sister, Matt, Dee and Alex at Sugarhouse park for a lunch picnic. The weather was beautiful! We had such a fun time. Stella got to see the ducks and birds down by the BIG pond they have and she learned how to roll down a hill with her Auntie DD and just had a great time running around and playing. Then at the end of the evening I got to go to Matthew's and Beckys new house. Their place was great and it was so nice to visit with them.

Stella just loves taking baths! She has these little toys she likes to play with everytime. Lately though her favorite thing to do is line them all up on the edge of the bath. She arranges them in an order and if you move one or take it out of it's place she gets upset and has to do it all over again. She just makes me laugh. :)

Glasses

So a couple months ago we took Stella to go see her doctor about her eye. Her right eye looked to be a little lazy causing her to sort of go crossed eye. I was in Denial for a while but finally put the big girl panties on and took her to see her pediatrition. He then referred us to see an Eye Doctor at Primary Childrens. We went in and waited around for a couple of hours and a couple of tests later told us that Stella will need glasses to correct her eye and her vision. WHAT??? My baby needs glasses?!? Ok, I knew how cute she was going to be but I was very worried that the glasses would make more difficult to do things and I didn't have a clue on how I was going to keep her glasses on her cute little face. Finally after searching around for the perfect pair, we found some ordered them and waited, and waited, and then waited some more. The pair that we picked had to be back ordered because of the color. So then they offered some tempoary ones that were the same frames but just different color. Her cute pink ones won't be in until this Friday. Well we have had them for one day and it's going pretty well. The first time she put them on she immediately took them off and threw them. When I then tempted her with an oreo she actually kept them on for about 5 t0 10 min. All day we have been playing put them on and thow them off game. I am hoping she will eventually get use to them and not hate them so much. She is soooo stinkin cute in them. Here are some pictures and brief video that I took of her in them.

Soccer

Alex has been playing on indoor soccer league this spring and every thursday they get together and play a friendly game together. Well the wives are invited to come and participate if they want. So Alex took me along. Now if you know really well you would know that I have never, ever played soccer in my life. I felt so silly and out of place. First the players out there mainly spoke portegues and spanish. I had no idea what anyone was saying. I played though. I didn't know what direction I was supposed to be going and I didn't know what to do with the ball if it actually came to me. It for sure started out rocky but it ended up not being so bad. I actually got the ball away from a couple of the players and kicked it and didn't miss. I don't know if I kicked it in the right direction but I was more worried about missing. It was a great way to excersize and Alex and I had a good time doing something together.

I can't believe where the time goes!! It just seemed like yesterday that Rebecca, Jason and the kids were just here in Utah hanging out. Well in fact it has been 2 weeks since they were here. While they were here we were able to get together and head up the canyon to go snow tubing. It was such a beautiful day for it and there wasn't a cloud in sight. Everyone had such a good time. On Friday night Lauri, Bree and myselft went up to Brighton to do a little bit of night snowboarding. It was awesome. It had been snowing for the last two days and all day long and was still snowing when we were there. The snow was AMAZING!!! So much fresh powder. We had such a fun time. Then afterwards we proceded to Jimmy Johns for their fresh awesome sandwiches and for dessert, Red Mango. Yum Yum! Anyway, I took some pictures of us up at Brighton and thought I would share.

Stella has just recently started to realize that she would rather be naked than dressed. She has discovered that if she pulls really hard on her sleeves of her shirts, she can sort of start taking them off. This is how I found her the other day while she was taking a nap....

She loves to read her books and play with my kitchen towls. She sees me folding them and then she likes to pretend that she is folding them and then she goes gets them again and carries them with her everywhere. Even in her little stroller.

Ginger Anne Johnson

Well it's offical! Heather and Matt are parents to a BEAUTIFUL little girl. Her name is Ginger Anne Johnson. She was born on Jan. 4th at 7:14 am weighing in at 6 lbs and 12 oz and 20 1/2 inches long. Just perfect. She is as cute as can be and sooo sweet. I'm soo excited for Heather and Matt to be parents. They are going to be so wonderful and I am glad to have a little neice that lives near me. :) Congrats to you both!!

New Year, New Goals

Welcome to 2010. I don't know about you, but it came and went too fast. Hopefully this year won't seem like such a blur. I am challenging myself this year to actually make some goals and accomplishing them. It is making me excited and eager. I know if I write them here for all of you to see and for myself to see, I will have a less chance of forgetting about them and not caring.

So some of my goals are:

1. Start taking better care of myself, ie: working out, eating better. I am pretty sure everyone out there always has this on their list but I am determined. I am going to blog about my progress and my results. I might just be brave enough to post pictures of myself going through my transition. :)

2. Blogging. I thought I was doing an ok job this last year at updating my blog but in the last few months I have been slacking. I am going to start blogging a lot more and taking more pictures to post. Looking at other peoples blogs I love seeing and reading about their lives and have decided to be more dilligant in this area.

3. I am going to try really hard at learing spanish. I am going to find a class or get rosetta stone or learn new words each day. Anything to help me learn and to become fluent. I want my little girl to not just understand spanish but to speak and what better way then for me to know it and to speak it to her. I will also blog about this as I go along.

4. I want to be come a better cook/baker. I am going to try and come up with new ideas and to branch out and not to be afraid of trying new things.

Well I think these 4 goals/resolutions are a good start to my new year. I will keep you posted on however thing is going.

On Sept. 25, 2008 at 2:55 am Stella Elizabeth De La Torre was born. You came into this world and life as we know it has never been the same. You dazzle us with your big brown eyes and make us laugh with your silly facial expressions and words. Your heart is bigger than you are. We are amazed about how much you are learing and can understand. You don't say too many words but you find ways to communicate what you want to us. You started to walk around 11 months and now you are cruising and there are no brakes. :) You would rather walk than be held but you still love to snuggle with us. You have charmed your way into our hearts and anyone you meet. We are extremely blessed to have you as our daughter and little girl. We are looking forward to this next year and what it will bring.

Well it has been a really long time since my last post. I thought I would just start over once again and catch you up on the things that have been happening with our little family. Back in Augest we had our good friend Christy take some family photos of us. She did such a good job considering all that she had to work with. My busy working husband and his spur of the moments disapearing act. My lil one and her tiredness and my fun dog that couldn't stand still to save her life. All in all it went pretty well. :) The pictures turned out beautifully and now I have some wonderful memories on my wall at home. Here are a few that Christy took for us...

On Saturday 7.10.09 we went to Bear Lake with our friends Lauri and Anthony and their neice Jackie. We had such a fun time. Kinda funny though because it was over cast when we got there and the part of the beach that we went to had sort of flooded on one side and the tide was so far up on the other that we had very little beach. It didn't even matter though. We set up our chairs, had our yummy food and awesome company. It was sooo nice just to have the enitre day to relax, eat, play in the water and to hang with friends.

Stella loving her jumpy toy!

Stella is 9 months old!! and couple days past. :) She had her 9 month check up and everythig is looking great. Weighing in at 17 1/2 lbs and 27 1/2 inches long! SHe's my lengthy peanut! At this stage she is starting to eat some regular food besides the baby stuff. She can stand up to 5 seconds. Not always consistantly but sometimes. It's a good start. She's not crawling but she has decided that scooting gets her around just fine. She has 2 teeth on the bottom of her mouth. She has just got the concept of drinking out of a straw. It's pretty funny to watch her get some juice that way. It's a surprise to her everytime she does it. She can wave bye bye to her mommy and daddy pretty good now. She understands her name and when it's called. She likes to scoot down backwards off our bed and onto the ground. (As long as we are there to catch her) Da da is still her favorite thing to say and sometimes she will say Ba ba no mama yet but that's ok. :) We are getting ready to take our first road trip with her to WA. We are excited and nervous to see how she will do.

We are headed to WA to celebrate our parents 40th wedding anniversiry. I will post pics when we get back!

Basking in the sun.

Miss princess dog.....

Oh isn't she funny....

Exciting news!! We got a dog last month. Not just any dog, but an english bull dog. She is the sweestest thing ever. How it happened. Alex was looking on line like he always does for a dog. Now he knew we couldn't get a dog right now but he sends me links to look at what he has found. He sent me this link of this sweet bull dog who just looked like she wanted a good home. She is a rescued bull dog. We got her from these people who rescues all sorts of animals but their specialty are bull dogs. London was rescued from a person who use to beat her and leave her outside all winter long in a dog house. They took her in and help rehabilate her for 7 months. We then called asked if she was still available and she was. We drove 3 1/2 hours to get her but she is worth it. She is so good with Stella and us. She was already potty trained. She love's LOVES car rides and going for walks. She has quite the personality and sometimes attitude. A little stubern sometimes but she fits right into our little family. :) We love her and we are glad she is ours now.

Stella is 8 months old now. You can clap. Wave good bye, talk (in baby talk) when someone talks to you. You are trying to walk but can't do it on your own just yet. You like to scoot around on the floor. Not really crawling yet but you get to the places you want to go. I am not sure if you will crawl before you walk. You're quite eager to be on your legs. :) You can stand for sometime holding on to things. You think it's funny to fake cough. You love to hold things and then drop them so we will pick them up for you. It has turned into quite a game. You have 1 tooth coming through right now. The rest haven't followed but it's fun to see one pearly white. You're hair is starting to grow more. Everyone thinks I have given you a hair cut but it's really because you're hair is starting to come in. You love taking walks outside in your stroller. You love it when I run when you're in the stroller. You have discovered that you can make different noises with your mouth. Right now you favor the smacking sound. You also love playing with London (our english bull dog.) You like to scoot to her and try to pet her and play with her face. It's quite cute to watch.

Stella is such a water baby. She loves the water. She was kicking and splashing and playing with it. She was having such a good time. Can't wait to start on swim lessons. :)

So Alex, Stella and I were able to go swimming this last weekend at our friend's house. We had such good time. We had pizza, hung out by the pool and then we went to Alex soccer game and Stella got to watch her daddy play soccer. What a great time we had.

Stella took her first trip to the zoo this last weekend. She loved it! Well I think she did. She may have been more interested in the fences than the actual animals.. That's ok though. We all had a great day. My favorites were the giraffs and the peacock. It was a beautiful day to be outside.

Well it's official we are moved into our new home!! It's super exciting and I love our new place! There are some things still in boxes but for the most part everything is out and done. It is so nice to have so much more space to live in. We love it! Stella is loving it also. She loves the fact that she can be on the floor in the living room and still see me while I am in the kitchen. It is wonderful! I will post some pictures here shortly of the house. Oh! We also got a dog! Her name is London and she is an English Bulldog. She is soo dang cute! She is such a sweet and good dog. Stella is having so much fun with her and London is good being with her also. Our little family just got a little bigger. It's fun to have her with us. :)

What are you going to do? I know I am a little slow at this blogging but I will get there. So just a few things to catch up to date. I went home to WA Feb 19th and was there for 4 days. It was great to go home to Mom and Dad's. It was Stella's first trip and she did quite well for her first time travelling. While being there I was able to catch up with my 2 very good friends. We went out to eat and then chatted for over 3 hours at the restaurant. Our server was a good sport for letting stay there that long. :) I was also able to spend time with my other sister Rebecca and our other sister from another mother Dee Dee. It was wonderful. We also had our family on my dad's side over that Sunday night for dinner and good company. Our cousin Victor is in the hospital right now recovering from a horrible accident. He is doing so great now! Still a long ways to go but he's getting there!! So we had everyone over to kinda de stress out. It had been such a long time since we had all seen each other. I also was finally able to meet Brooke's baby Ryan. He is such a babe!! So chucky and so very cute! It was a lot of fun getting our babies together for the first time. I must say I wish I could've had more time there, but I am glad that I was able to go at all.

Also very exciting news!! Stella finally rolled from her tummy to her back just 2 days ago on the 9th!! I was eccstatic! She is growing up so fast! She is laughing a lot more and trying to speak. She loves to walk while we are holding her hands and is into eskimo kisses. She is a doll. Now she is trying to learn to roll from her back to her tummy. Time is just flying. I just love having a baby and an awesome husband to share her with! Life is wonderful.

So this is my second post and I am so proud of myself for getting this far! :) Well let's see. Valentines day has come and passed. It was so wonderful. Alex and I went snowboarding the night before Valentines day with our friends Anthony and Laurie and my brother Matt. It was really cold and snowy but we had a lot of fun. For Love day I gave Alex a camel pack and some skull candy headphones to go down on the slopes with. Then on Valentines day, he cooked me a candle lit dinner and surprised me with a ginormous love potion balloon, tulips and a huge sweet card. It was fantastic. We finished off the night with taking some pictures of Stella with the love potion balloon. Super cute!!

On Tuesday we got to watch our nephew Garrett for a few hours. He and Stella are 11 days apart. He is so mellow compared to sweet Stella. It was so much fun to watch them interact with each other. Having him over for just a few hours made me realize I don't think I could ever handle twins. Thank goodness for 1 baby at a time. I am so glad that Stella has little cousins close to her age to grow up with. It's great to be so close with family.

Well we are super excited because we just found out that we got approved to rent this town house after our lease on our apartment is up on April 30th. It's beautiful and has so much more room for us. We can't wait! It's 3 bedroom and 2 1/2 bath and has a 2 car garage. It's perfect for our little family.

I am also so excited to be going WA to visit for 4 days. I leave tomorrow night and I can't wait! It's going to be Stella's first time leaving Utah and flying on a plane. I am very excited for her to come with me.

I am starting over. When I started my blog New Years Eve I realized that my blog was a little "special." I couldn't post any pictures and no one could make any comments. So I deleted the old one and just started a new one. So hopefully this one will make the cut. :)

WellI just want to catch you up a few things. Stella has started eating rice cereal!!! It has been very exciting to watch her eat. She loves it! We put her in her little high chair that attaches to our chairs and she goes to town. She likes to put her hand on my hand and help me feed her. It's the cutest thing to watch. The doctor said we can start to give her something new each week. So I think next week we are going to try some veggies. Stella is almost 19 weeks. She will be 5 months in 2 more weeks! She is getting so old so fast. She loves to laugh and smile a lot. She also is grabbing for everything and wanting to put it in her mouth. She can stand on her own if she is holding onto something. She can roll side to side but she isn't turning over quite yet. She's getting there though. She loves talking.. well you know goo goo and ga ga. :) No actual words yet but I think once she learns some words she will be talking non stop! She loves to interact and play. She is so much fun right now and we are loving it!

Also last month we were able to see Heather get married. She was married on Jan 17th to Matt Johnson. The wedding was beautiful! They look so happy and it's fun to have another addition to the family. It was great having so many family members and friends come in from out of town to support both of them. We are so happy for her and him and wish them the very best!
